Jaime
Palczewski
Jaime Palczewski is
a Soil Conservationist with the Natural Resources Conservation Service in
Linton, ND. She began her employment with NRCS in May of 2003 at the
Watford
City
field office through the Student Career Experience Program. Since then
she has worked in the Mohall,
Fargo
,
Bismarck
, Wahpeton, and Linton Field Offices.
Jaime received a
degree in Natural Resource Management from
North Dakota
State University in December of 2004. She has been a member of SWCS since 2007.
Jaime’s involvement in SWCS has included attending multiple SWCS workshops in
ND, attending the 2007 Annual Convention in Florida, and trying to set up a SWCS
student chapter in ND.
Jaime’s hobbies
include helping on the family farm, hunting, fishing, and spending time with
family and friends.
Kristin
Brennan
Kristin Brennan is a
soil scientist at the MLRA 53B Soil Survey Office in Bismarck, ND.
She began SWCS as a student member in the
University
of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point Chapter
from 2001-2004. During those years,
she held positions as Field Project Coordinator for the Horicon Marsh Research
Project and president from 2003-2004. Kristin
graduated with a degree in Soil Science and began her career with the NRCS after
completing two summer internships under the Student Career Experience Program.
She currently serves as the Membership and Publicity Chair for the ND
State Chapter of SWCS.
Lance
Duey
I grew up in South
Central Wisconsin (
Milton
,
WI
). I graduated in 2001 from the
University
of
Wisconsin-River Falls
with a B.S. in Soil Science and a minor in Geography.
Internships included working for Novartis Seeds-Northrup King on corn
breeding and genetics, the University of Minnesota-Crops and Soils Department on
crop and soil research plots, and for Ducks Unlimited/NRCS in 3 Wisconsin
counties promoting the use of conservation practices CREP-22 and CREP-23.
Following college
graduation, I worked for 2+ years in Northwestern Minnesota for
Clearwater
County
Environmental Services (
Bagley
,
MN
) as an Environmental Technician. Duties
included project supervision and regulation of the MN Wetland Conservation Act,
Clearwater
County
Shore
land Ordinance, and the MN Pollution Control Agency Individual Sewage Treatment
Systems Rules.
Since 2004, I have
worked for the USDA/NRCS in
North Dakota
with the Soil Survey Team updating spatial and tabular data across MLRA 55A and
55B.
Outside of work I am
an avid curler, fisherman, and hunter.
Penny
Doty
Penny
has been a member of the
North Dakota
Soil and Water Conservation Society for the past three years.
The last two years she has held the position of Council Representative.
In
April of 2006 Penny began a career with the Natural Resource Conservation
Service. She was a Soil
Conservationist in Fessenden and Fargo. Presently
she is the District Conservationist in New
Rockford
. Prior to joining NRCS Penny worked
for the Soil and Water Conservation District in
Crookston
,
MN
.
Penny
grew up in LaMoure, ND, graduated from NDSU in horticulture and then earned a
degree in natural resource management from the University of Minnesota,
Crookston. She has been married for
29 years, has two grown boys and two labs.
Roxanne
Johnson
Roxanne
Johnson is an Extension Water Quality Associate with the Agricultural &
Biosystems Engineering Department on the NDSU campus in
Fargo
. She is responsible for developing
educational resource materials, coordinating and conducting educational programs
addressing issues of drinking water quality for humans and animals, non-point
source pollution, water use and management.
Roxanne
spent twenty-five years ranching in southwest
North Dakota
where her family raised livestock and small grains. During that time she served
ten years on the Adams County Soil Conservation District Board of Supervisors
and six years on the on the North Dakota Association of Soil Conservation
District Board of Directors; three as President.
From 1996 to 2005 she owned Glassworks in
Hettinger
,
ND
, a stained glass, espresso and home décor store.
Roxanne
received her undergraduate degree at
Dickinson
State
University
and is near completion of her Masters degree in Natural Resources Management at
NDSU. She has been a member of the NDSWCS since 2006.
She has two daughters, Kay an
attorney in
Minneapolis
and Leigh, a paralegal in
Bismarck
.
